Lamon Records has always had an open door policy when it
comes to reviewing and accepting demos from artists and songwriters.
Following these guidelines will ensure proper handling of
your submission.
ARTISTS:
Lamon Records is known for its Artist Development,
designed to give rising area and regional artists maximum
exposure and marketing in both the national and international
arenas. We typically use one of these types of agreements
to release and market an artist on our label:
Reserved
for Artists with a proven track record of selling CDs on their
own. Lamon pays for all production, manufacturing and distribution
up front (all expenses recoupable from record sales). Typically,
the Artist will be required to make a minimum initial purchase
of CDs for their own concert sales, fan club sales, etc.
The Artist (or third party investor) pays Lamon for all production
costs associated with producing a high quality master that
is guaranteed to meet our standards. Lamon then agrees to
pay for all manufacturing and distribution of the CD worldwide
through our vast network of distributors, retailers and online
outlets. We will work to develop a budget that is comfortable
for both the Artist and Lamon to assure recoupable success.
An artist
who has completed a master recording that meets our standard,
but has not yet manufactured CDs may want to ask us to consider
licensing their master for release on Lamon. If accepted,
Lamon would then manufacture and distribute CDs in the US
and/or the world depending on the territory granted and scope
of the licensing agreement. Only masters that meet
our standards will be accepted.
Artists
who find themselves so far along in the process that they've
recorded a master, manufactured retail-ready CDs, and now
find it difficult to promote and distribute their music themselves
may want to ask us to consider distributing their current
CD. If accepted, we will catalog, digitally scan, make sound
clips, and place your CD in our complete distribution channels,
which now includes hundreds of retailers, all the major online
outlets, legal digital download sites including iTunes, Napster,
Rhapsody and others. We charge a small fee for our cataloging
services and additional artist/radio promotion is required.

Lamon Records still accepts demos from songwriters and publishers
who wish to pitch their songs for recording consideration
by our artists. However, due to the large volume of tapes
we now receive on a weekly basis, we can no longer accept
unsolicited demos for this purpose. If you are interested
in submitting songs to our artists and their producers, contact
Susan Moody for a list of the current and upcoming projects
we're working on and we will send you info with specifics
on when and where to direct your demos.
